Like Eating Out? Try 'A Taste Of North Rockland' One-Stop Eating Event
WEST HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- How many restaurants have you been to in North Rockland? A one-stop tasting event will highlight many of the area's establishment Monday, Sept. 19 at West Haverstraw Village Hall.
A Taste of North Rockland is a fundraiser, co-sponsored by the North Rockland Lions Club and North Rockland Rotary Club. It's main event is a fare sampling, and a portion of the proceeds will help out local food pantries.

Italian Feast, Food, Talent Take Stage In Tappan
TAPPAN, N.Y. -- An annual Italian festival with dozens of musical performers, dancing, food, celebrities and entertainment will take over the Masonic Park Fairgrounds in Tappan for four days.The seventh annual Blauvelt Sons of Italy Italian Feast and Carnival runs Thursday, Sept. 15, to Sunday, Sept. 18.
It draws thousands from around the tristate area annually. This year's marks the 50th anniversary of the Rockland Lodge 2176 Sons of Italy.
The festival will showcase area talent. Actor and director Paul Borghese, a lodge member, will be master of ceremonies for the live entertainment.

Rockland's Wcfr Hosts 5th Anniversary Fundraising Gala
NYACK, N.Y. -- Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. is hosting its fifth anniversary and fundraising gala on Sept. 24 at The Time Hotel in Nyack.
The event is honoring their live-saving partners American Haitian Nurses Associations (HANA), Volunteer New York!, Faculte des Sciences Infirmieres de Leogane (FSIL), Roxanne Watson (LiveOnNY), and Dr. Daniel Allonce.
The event will be held from 6-10 p.m. at The Time Hotel, 400 High Ave. WCFR members pay $100 and non-members pay $125, and the event includes open bar, entertainment, and parking.

Enjoy Food, Crafts, Drafts At Suffern Street Fair
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- The Suffern Chamber of Commerce is hosting its September Crafts & Drafts Street Fair this Sunday.
The spring version, in April, drew about 20,000 people, the chamber said. It featured 175 vendors, a beer and wine garden, live music and a Kidz Zone. The chamber posted a highlights reel on YouTube, and you can view the chamber's 212 photo's of the festivities here.
Sunday's event will feature many of the same features, but with an even bigger beer and wine garden. Folks can stroll along Lafayette Avenue, sampling food and checking out a variety of craft and other vendors…
Closter Memorial Car Show Aids Tenafly's 'Joey's Fund'
CLOSTER, N.J. – A memorial car show will be at St. Mary's Church in Closter on Oct. 1.
The 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. show will feature classic cars, a DJ, trophies for competitors, door prizes, 50/50 raffles, gift raffles, food trucks and vendors and games.
The inaugural event was launched by the DeCarlo family in honor of their son, Joseph, who was 2½ when he died in 1986. Joey's Fund out of Tenafly was established in his honor.
Money raised from last year's event – $20,000 according to organizers – went to St. Joseph’s Children's Hospital to help the families of ill children pay for expenses.
