Authorities Ask For Help Identifying Man Found Dead In Wooden Chest In Westchester Authorities in Westchester County are asking the public for help identifying a man whose body was found in a wooden chest on the side of the Saw Mill River Parkway more than four decades ago. The man's body was discovered in Hastings-on-Hudson at 10:15 a.m. on April 23, 1978, by a driver traveling north on the parkway, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. The driver pulled over after seeing a cedar chest on the side of the road and found that the chest was nailed shut. He opened the chest with a tire iron and found the man's body inside.
