Roosevelt Schools Superintendent Placed On Paid Leave Roosevelt Schools Superintendent Marnie Hazelton, who has been in her post since 2015, has been placed on paid leave, the Board of Education determined.  Assistant Superintendent Shirley Martin will take over in her stead, assuming her duties presiding over the 3,400-student district. No reason for the sudden paid leave has been announced, and the district declined to comment further. Hazelton was reportedly alerted to her home leave on Friday, June 14, in a confidential letter.
