Man Dies From Injuries After Crash At Long Island Intersection

A 60-year-old man who suffered critical injuries after crashing while crossing over a busy Long Island intersection has died, police announced.

On Wednesday, Dec. 8, East Moriches resident Anthony Ricci was driving on East Moriches-Riverhead Road in Eastport shortly before 6 p.m. when he attempted to turn left onto the westbound lanes of County Road 111 and crossed in front of a Honda Accord traveling southbound and struck him.

Ricci was transported to the hospital in critical condition, his passenger, Frances Ricci, age 60, and the driver of the Honda were treated at area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.

On Thursday, Dec. 9, the Suffolk County Police Department announced that Anthony Ricci had died from the injuries sustained in the crash.
