Beloved Firefighter Dies After Over 25 Years Of Service In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley fire department is mourning the loss of one of its active members who served his community for more than a quarter of a century. The death of Robert "Link" Linkenhoker was announced by Putnam County's Brewster Fire Department on Wednesday, Oct. 16. His age and cause of death were not made public. According to the department, Linkenhoker joined the department in 1998 and continued serving up to his death. Crash Temporarily Closes Hudson Valley Road, Causes Injury
A vehicle was left on its side following a crash in the Hudson Valley that caused an hour-long road closure. The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday afternoon, Oct. 4, when vehicles collided on Starr Ridge Road near Danbury Road (Route 202) in Brewster, according to the Brewster Fire Department. One driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. According to the department, Starr Ridge Road was closed for around an hour as the crash site was cleared. The cause was not detailed.

A large brush fire near a busy Hudson Valley road sent plumes of smoke into the air before crews could put it out. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Tuesday afternoon, April 9 off Route 22 in Brewster, where a large brush fire ignited, Carmel fire officials said on Wednesday, April 17.
