Pug Attacks Woman, Terrier At Darien-Stamford Border DARIEN, Conn. -- A woman reported that she and her dog were attacked by a pug while walking near the Darien-Stamford border last week, police said. The 57-year-old Stamford woman was walking her Jack Russell terrier near the intersection of West Avenue and Park Lane when the attack occurred, Darien police said. A small brown pug appeared and started to attack her terrier, who jumped up into her arms, the woman told police said. Westport Police: Women Tried To Hide Shoplifted Items Inside Ottoman WESTPORT, Conn. -- Two women were arrested at a Home Goods store in Westport after police said they tried to steal merchandise by hiding it inside an ottoman. Shenice Green, 28, of Bridgeport, and Mierieke Blackwood, 28, of the Bronx, N.Y., were each charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Green was also charged with interfering with an officer and breach of peace. Blackwood posted $500 bond and Green posted $1,000 bond, and both will appear in court May 19. Norwalk Police Say Man Tried To Steal Toilet Paper From Home Depot NORWALK, Conn. -- A Monroe man is facing robbery charges after he was accused of trying to steal $107 worth of toilet paper and paper towels from a Home Depot, according to Norwalk police. Seth Emond, 53, was charged with third-degree assault, third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on $10,000 bond and will appear in court May 13. Bridgeport Man Charged With Stealing Cash From Norwalk Pizzeria NORWALK, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man who was previously charged with breaking into Village Bagels in Norwalk has now been charged with breaking into Piazza Pizza. Angel Rodriguez, 47, was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on $20,000 bond and will appear in court May 13. Norwalk Woman Almost Hit As Bullet Strikes Meadow Street Home NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk mother cooking dinner in her home on Meadow Street felt a bullet fly past her head and into a wall Tuesday, police said. Norwalk's Human Services Council Sheds Light On Problem Gambling NORWALK, Conn. – Amid talks of expanding gambling in Connecticut through a new casino and keno, Carlos Reinoso Jr. of the Human Services Council in Norwalk is working to bring the issue of problem gambling to light.
