Car Stolen In Darien, Recovered In Bridgeport DARIEN, Conn. -- A car stolen from a driveway on Rainbow Circle in Darien last week was found the next day in Bridgeport, police said. The 2011 Ford Expedition was stolen sometime between 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, and 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, police said. The owners left the car unlocked in their driveway with the key inside, and woke up the next morning to discover that it was missing, police said. Cars Catch Fire At Darien High School In Jump Start Gone Wrong DARIEN, Conn. -- Two people trying to jump-start a car at Darien High School last week accidentally set both cars on fire, police said. Officers responded to the high school at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, on a report of two cars on fire near the baseball field, police said. By the time they arrived, the fires had been extinguished by a volunteer firefighter, police said. Three Charged With Attempted Thefts At Darien Stop & Shop DARIEN, Conn. -- Three Norwalk women were charged with attempting to steal more than $700 worth of items from a Stop & Shop in Darien last week. Dalycia Crawford-Jean, 21, Samantha Lynn Crucitti, 23, and Kaera Crawford-Jean, 22, all were charged with fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny. They all posted $250 bonds and will appear in court May 21. Police were called to the Stop & Shop in the Goodwives Shopping Center at around 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 11 on a report of a shoplifting. Second Ring's End Employee Charged With Using Company Gas Card DARIEN, CONN. -- A Massachusetts man has become the second person arrested and charged with illegally using a Ring's End Lumber employee gas card to fill up his personal vehicle, according to Darien police. Kevin Zomek, 46, of Southwick, Mass. was charged with three counts of illegal use of a credit card and one count of third-degree larceny. He was held on a $5,000 bond and went to court May 5. Bridgeport Man Charged In Death Of Infant Son In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was arrested Monday on manslaughter charges in connection with the death of his infant son in Norwalk last May, police said. Jorge E. Chiclana, 22, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and injury to a child. He was held on $75,000 bond. The arrest stemmed from the death of a 5-month-old baby on May 16, 2014. According to police reports, the baby had a high level of alcohol in his system. Stop Sign Added To McKinley-Highland Intersection In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. – The intersection of Highland Avenue and McKinley Street near the Rowayton Library in Norwalk will have a new stop sign installed in the coming days. Police: Westport Man, 67, Hit Girlfriend's Dog During Fight WESTPORT, Conn. -- A 67-year-old Westport man was charged with hitting his girlfriend's dog and violating a protective order after a domestic dispute, police said. Westport officers were called to a home Wednesday on a report of a disturbance between two people who lived there, police said. During the investigation, officers were told that Martin Smiley, 67, had become physical with his girlfriend and then struck her dog before throwing it outside the house, police said.
