Maureen 'Moe' Kovolew, 76, Of Yonkers
YONKERS, N.Y. – Maureen “Moe” Kovolew, a longtime resident of Yonkers, died on May 25 at her home. She was 76.
Kovolew was predeceased by her husband George S. Kovolew II.
She is survived by her children, George S. III and his wife, Cecilia, and Susan Piekarz and her husband, John; grandchildren, George S. IV, Jeannie, and John, Jr..
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at F. Ruggiero & Sons, 732 Yonkers Ave., in Yonkers.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Gloria P. Ward, 87, Of Peekskill
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Gloria P. Ward, a lifelong Peekskill resident, died Sunday, May 24, at her home. She was 87.
Ward was born on Sept. 6, 1927, to Fred J. and Florence Belford Bianco.
She was predeceased by her husband, Homer, and brother Fred "Jay" Bianco Jr.
She is survived by her son, Kevin and his wife, JoAnne, her grandson Kevin Jr. and his wife Sara, her great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Giuliana, and sister-in-law Priscilla Bianco.
Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home.

Alan Robert Geist, 82, Of Rye Brook
RYE BROOK, N.Y. – Alan Robert Geist, of Rye Brook, died on Saturday, May 24. He was 82.
Geist was born in the Bronx on April 2, 1933, to Harry and Sadie (Scher) Geist. graduating from New York University and NYU Law School. He was an attorney in White Plains.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Geist, daughter Susan Geist of Malden, Mass., and brothers, Herman Geist of Armonk and Morty Geist of Springfield, N.J.
Donations in Geist's memory can be made to your local A.S.P.C.A. or the American Lung Association.
Interment was at Sharon Gardens Cemetery.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Pasquale "Pat" DelTorto, a former resident of New Rochelle, died on Sunday, May 24. He was 84.
DelTorto was born on Oct. 18, 1930 in New Rochelle to Dominic and Katherine (nee Hoffmann) DelTorto
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and working as a butcher for Shopwell for more than 30 years once he came home.
He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Susanne Jeraci, a lifelong resident of White Plains, died Monday, May 25, at home after a long illness. She was 53.
Jeraci was born on March 6, 1962, to Cosimo and Julia Jeraci.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Palmieri, and her three children, Juliana, Michael, and Matthew Palmieri.

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Steve Banu, of Bronxville, died on Monday, May 25. He was 85.
Banu was born on Jan. 16, 1930, to John and Mary (nee Onadi) Banu in Star Junction, Pa.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Kurtz was born on June 23, 1942 in Queens to Charles and Blanche Kurtz, retiring from the NYPD after 20 years of service.

WILTON, Conn. – The Wilton Chamber of Commerce held a grand reopening ceremony at Prime Tutoring, a tutoring business in Wilton Center.
The business specializes in helping students in kindergarten through 12th grade in various subjects, including reading, writing, algebra, geometry, Spanish and French.
Other services offered include help with homework, along with preparation for SAT/ACT, independent school admission (ISEE/SSAT), PSAT/NMQST, and AP tests.
