Joseph J. Scolza, 90, Of Hartsdale
HARTSDALE, N.Y. – Joseph J. Scolza Jr., of Hartsdale, died Sunday, May 24. He was 90.
Scolza was born on Feb. 22, 1925, in New York City to Joseph and Mary Scolza.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and took part in the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine and seven siblings, and is survived by his children, Joyce Altmann of Port Chester, Mary Ellen Hughes of White Plains and Janet Vetere of Elmsford, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Nello A. Amori, 93, Of New Rochelle
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Nello A. Amori, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on May 25. He was 93.
Amori was born on Nov. 28, 1921, to Francesco and Francesca (nee Luttazzi) Amori.
He was a former recreation director for the New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Department.
He served during World War II as staff sergeant in the 15th Army Air Force Liberator Bombardment Group in Italy.
Amori is survived by his wife, Anne DeVivo Amori; his two daughters, Linda Amori, June Amori; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a brother Albert Amori and his wife Linda.

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Elvira Fariello, of Yorktown Heights, died on May 23 at her home. She was 91.
Fariello was born on Nov. 27, 1923 to Frank and Bosaria Terrano in New York City.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Joseph Fariello and daughter Laura Mirande, and is survived by her grandson Brian Mirande and his partner Tabitha Miller of Wappingers Falls, one great-granddaughter Adriana Sophia Mirande, son-in-law Thomas Mirande of Dover Plains and many nieces and nephews.
