Man Fatally Struck By NJ Transit Train In North Jersey
A man was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train Tuesday, Nov. 7. The Morris & Essex Line train struck the man just west of the Madison station around 3:30 p.m., an NJ Transit official said. None of the 60 passengers on the train were hurt. The train had left Penn Station and was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 4:05 p.m. Rail service was experiencing an hour delay in both directions at 5:50 p.m., NJ Transit officials said.

Person Killed By NYC Bound Train In Millburn
A male was struck and killed by a train early Tuesday morning in Millburn, NJ Transit officials said. The victim was struck by the Morris and Essex Train 6602 -- which departed from Dover at 4:16 a.m. -- east of the Millburn station around 5:15 a.m., NJ Transit spokeswoman Mariluz Garcia-Diaz said. None of the 25 passengers on board were injured. The victim's age and identity were not immediately known. The train was set to arrive at Penn Station in New York at 5:44 a.m. Rail service between Dover and East Orange was delayed by one hour.

A Connecticut man who authorities said fired at a police officer following a Jersey Shore traffic stop was indicted on attempted murder, kidnapping and other charges, authorities said. Miguel Angel-Villegas, 29, of New Haven had threatened to kill his then-girlfriend if she didn't drive him from Connecticut to New Jersey, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. After making the woman give the Tuckerton police officer a bogus name during the traffic stop last Nov. 21, Angel-Villegas forced her at gunpoint to speed away, Billhimer said.
