Four Newark families were displaced in a house fire early Sunday morning, officials said. A two-story Vermont Avenue building went up in flames around 6 a.m., Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said. A female firefighter was treated after she fell and hurt her back, and a building resident was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, Ambrose said.
