Khalif Toombs was sentenced on Thursday, Sept. 14 in connection with the shooting death of Lamir King, 21, also of Atlantic City, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Toombs pleaded guilty to first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, the prosecutor said. City detectives moved in after seeing Tony Williams, 23, sling bags of crack at Godwin Avenue and Summer Street, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said. Jefferson Police Officer Revives Overdose Victim A man overdosing on suspected heroin was revived by a quick-acting Jefferson Township police officer, authorities said. Officer Christopher Smolt responded to reports of an unconscious man on a suspected heroin overdose on April 17, police said in a news release.
