Young Driver Killed In Route 17 Collision With Tractor-Trailer
A driver was killed in a horrific crash on Route 17, authorities confirmed. Cyrenius "Cy" Menard, a 19-year-old football player who wasgraduated from St. Joseph's Regional High School, was ejected from his sedan in a collision with a tractor-trailer in the southbound lanes just north of East Allendale Avenue in Saddle River shortly after 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 6. Fire Ravages Saddle River Home
Fire severely damaged a Saddle River home Friday afternoon. The blaze blew through the second floor and out the windows of the two-story wood-frame home on Fox Hedge Road off East Allendale Avenue. Firefighters knocked the fire down, checked for extensions and began overhauling a little over a half hour later. No injuries were reported.

SUV Hits Deer On Busy Northbound Route 17
A deer wandered onto Route 17 in broad daylight Tuesday afternoon and was struck by an SUV in Saddle River. The 47-year-old Brooklyn driver wasn’t injured in the noontime crash on the highway’s northbound side just before the East Allendale Avenue exit, police said.
