$8K, Oxy, More Drugs Seized From Passaic County Dealers After Wayne Investigation: Cops
A pair of Passaic County men have been arrested for drug dealing, authorities said.
A concerned resident tipped Wayne police off, who launched an investigation with help from the Passaic County Prosecutorβs Office, the Haledon Police Department, the Pompton Lakes Police Department and the Wayne Police Patrol Division, police said.
Police began surveillance on Louis C. Colao, 50, of Prospect Park, and Armando Verdina, 45, of Paterson, on Tuesday, July 24, Wayne Police Capt. Daniel Daly said.

Divers Recover Body Of Missing Randolph Swimmer, 18, From Passaic County Reservoir
The search for a missing swimmer came to a tragic end on Wednesday, June 26 in Passaic County, police said.
Divers recovered the body of 18-year-old Eshan Aman Ullah, of Randolph, after he went missing while swimming with three others in the Clinton Reservoir in West Milford Tuesday evening, local police said.
Ullah's body was found at approximately 12:10 p.m. by NJSP TEAMS divers after utilizing State Police and Passaic County Sheriff side scan sonar equipment, West Milford police announced.

Ambulance Driver, Landscaper From Ringwood Busted On Child Porn Charges, Sheriff Says
A newly-hired volunteer ambulance driver and landscaper from Passaic County is facing child porn charges out of Illinois involving two 13-year-old children, authorities said.
Victor E. Meza Valdez, 26, of Ringwood, was arrested on June 20, by detectives with the Passaic County Sheriff's Office on a warrant out of McHenry County, IL, Acting Passaic County Sheriff Gary Gairdina said.
During the search of Valdez's home, detectives seized several of his electronic devices, which will be transferred to the McHenry County State Attorneyβs Office.

Lifelong Passaic County resident Frank Chiavetta died on June 17, 2024, at 58 years old with his family by his side, according to his obituary on the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home website.
A Clifton native,Β Frank spent 40 years working UPS, having started with truck-loading and retiring as a customer counter representative in Saddle Brook, in 2023, according to his obituary. He lived in Wayne with his wife of 31 years, Anna Marie Chiavetta.

Oak Ridge Driver, 33, Killed In Fiery Atlantic County Crash
A Passaic County man died in a fiery crash in Atlantic County, authorities said.
An Absecon officer saw the vehicle on fire off Route 30 near Delilah Road just before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 28, the police department said in a news release. The vehicle was spotted near the former site of Bayview Motel.
