A truck veered off the Garden State Parkway on the Jersey Shore. The crash occurred at about 6 a.m. Thursday, March 14 southbound near milepost 62 in Eagleswood Township, according to New Jersey State Police. The Hino truck driver lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the left, struck the guardrail, and came to final rest in the wooded area, said Trooper Troy McNair, a State Police spokesman. Trio Accused Of 'Distract And Grab' Thefts Outside Of Manahawkin Stores
Three people were accused of taking part in a "distract and grab" ring across the tri-state area, including outside of two stores on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. The three were arrested in connection with the incidents in July and August 2023, Stafford Township police announced in a Saturday, Mar. 2 news release. The department and nearby law enforcement agencies had received several reports of "distract and grab" thefts and credit card fraud. A propane tank is to blame for the home explosion that killed a 45-year-old Jersey Shore man on Tuesday, Oct. 31, authorities said. A Virginia woman was sentenced to six years in New Jersey State Prison for causing a fatal crash after taking fentanyl in 2020, authorities said. Michelle Roselli, 36, of Spotsylvania County, Virginia, was sentenced on Thursday, Aug. 24, as a result of her previously entered guilty plea to vehicular homicide.
