A local South Jersey police sergeant cherry-picked child porn images for himself from a case that his department was investigating, a grand jury indictment charges. Suspended Vineland Police Officer Christopher Ortiz, 39, of Estell Manor "requested from a subordinate and obtained via email" at least 17 images from a child pornography investigation for unauthorized use, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. An Ocean County man was accused of uploading child pornography online, authorities said. Ricardo Espinoza Gonzalez, 23, of Jackson Township, was charged with possession of child pornography, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced in a news release on Thursday, Feb. 29. A Wall Township man was sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison in connection with an online chat that was sexually explicit, authorities said. Nearly 100 Atlantic County child sex offenders were arrested in a massive bust, authorities announced. Local agency law enforcement partners from throughout Atlantic County have charged 70 individuals with offenses including child luring, endangering a child by sexual conduct, and sexual assault. A 35-year-old man from Brick Township has been charged with possessing child pornography, authorities said. Christopher Budelman was charged on Sept. 27, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. A 35-year-old man from Egg Harbor Township has been charged in connection with the distribution of child abuse images and videos via SnapChat, authorities said.
