A 34-year-old Alexandria Township resident was arrested and charged on Friday, April 12 with possessing child pornography, authorities said. Eduardo Duran-Carrasco was arrested after an investigation by the New Jersey Internal Crimes Against Unit, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. JCP&L Will Trim Trees Along 3,400 Miles Of Power Lines To Reduce Outages
Jersey Central Power & Light is planning to trim trees to protect more than 3,400 miles of power lines across the Garden State, officials said. JCP&L will clear trees as part of a $32.5 million plan to prevent power outages during severe weather, the company said in a news release on Wednesday, Apr. 10. It's the first part of an annual $1.5 million increase in tree-trimming costs as part of a settlement with the state Board of Public Utilities. In New Jersey, the most amount of snow from the Friday, Jan. 19 storm appears to have fallen in Hopewell Township (Cumberland County) and Mount Royal (Gloucester County), where 6.5 inches of snow were reported. Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power as of Tuesday evening, Jan. 9, as the storm intensified. A State of Emergency ordered by Gov. Phil Murphy went into effect at 5 p.m., with state and local officials urging residents to stay off the roads. Yet another December rain storm has come and gone, leaving many New Jersey towns under water. According to the National Weather Service's Philadelphia/Mount Holly office, between one and three inches of rain fell across the area, ending early Thursday, Dec. 28. A search has been launched for a Hunterdon County man who police say may be endangered. Joseph Russo, 50, of Flemington, was last seen near Robin Hill Road in Hampton Borough around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, New Jersey State Police said.
