Ford announced that it would recall over 450,000 Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick vehicles because of an issue with the battery that can cause the drive train to lose power and increase the likelihood of wrecks. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released a report on Friday, April 12, saying sensors in the car could fail to notice a change in the battery's power. The community is rallying to support the family of a 55-year-old man who was struck and killed after his car broke down along the Garden State Parkway. Robert Piel Sr. of Bayonne "had a heart to help those he could," according to a GoFundMe set up to pay funeral costs. A crash caused delays on the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. Troopers responded to the crash at 6:04 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 on the Garden State Parkway north at milepost 115.6 in Holmdel Township, according to Detective I Jeffrey Lebron, a New Jersey State Police spokesman.
