A Rockland County bicyclist was hospitalized after an SUV struck him on a Mahwah road a mile or so from the state line. The 40-something victim was "lucid and responsive at the scene" following the crash on Island Road at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, Mahwah Police Chief Timothy O'Hara said. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with multiple injuries, the chief said. A 27-year-old Irvington woman was fatally struck by a truck while she was standing by her disabled vehicle on the shoulder on Route 80 in Warren County on the morning of Monday, April 8, authorities said. At 8:21 a.m., a Honda was parked and disabled on the right shoulder of I-80 in Hardwick Township when a tractor trailer traveling east struck Valdaishi Simpkins, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. A 48-year-old Pennsylvania man was seriously injured in a crash on Route 78 in New Jersey overnight, police said. The Coplay driver lost control in Clinton Township around 3:50 a.m. Sunday, March 31 and ran off the roadway to the right, hitting a guardrail near on the westbound side, New Jersey State Police said. A passenger vehicle crashed into a truck on Route 46 in Warren County on the early morning of Friday, March 15, authorities said. Five people were injured after a van overturned on Route 80 in Warren County on Saturday, March 9, state police said. At about 9 p.m., a Ford van occupied by six people was traveling west on Route 80 in Allamuchy Township when the driver lost control, causing the van to strike the center median and overturn on its side, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Five passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

An overturned truck caused numerous crashes on Route 287 on Wednesday, March 6, state police said. At 8:05 p.m., troopers responded to Route 287 north in Morristown Township, Troy McNair, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, said.
