July 4th Stabbing Leaves Man Critical In Quiet Morris County Town: Police A 51-year-old man was hospitalized with critical injuries while another was arrested in a Fourth of July stabbing, authorities said. Brian Kozub, 39, of Chatham Township, was charged with second-degree aggravated assault and various weapons offenses after stabbing the man in the neck with a pocket knife at a residence on Buxton Road around 10:50 p.m. while celebrating July 4th, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Daniel Leal Jr., of Meriden, CT, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 2, in connection to a crash that happened in Kearny in October 2021, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced. Hillside Man Stabbed Victim In Throat During Physical Fight, Police Say A 29-year-old man was arrested in a Hillside stabbing, authorities announced. Hillside's Maurice H. Ray Jr. was engaged in an argument with the victim when he left and returned later with a female on July 23, Det. Natalie Ogonowski said. A physical fight broke out between the female and the victim, at which point Ray cut the victim's neck, authorities said. Officers arrived at the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the detective said.
