Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle: Raritan PD A 64-year-old Flemington resident was fatally struck by a vehicle in Raritan Township on the early morning of Friday, Jan. 26, authorities said. At 5:55 a.m., Raritan Township police along with paramedics responded to Commerce Street and Route 202/31 and found the injured pedestrian, officers said. The man was attempting to cross Route 202/31 when he was struck by an Acura MDX traveling north. The man was taken to Hunterdon Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries, police said. Officials ID Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train In North Jersey NJ Transit officials have identified the pedestrian fatally struck by a train this week. Naji Jacob, a 74-year-old New Providence resident, was struck and killed by a train near Murray Hill Station in New Providence early Wednesday morning, Dec. 27. At 5:05 a.m., a Gladstone Branch train en route to Hoboken, fatally struck Jacob, NJ Transit officials said. There were no injuries to the people on board the train, NJ Transit said.

Hopatcong Driver, 70, Fatally Hits Newark Woman: Cops A 66-year-old Newark woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Summit on the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 20, police said. At 6:51 a.m. police responded to River Road, between Morris Avenue and Plain Street, and found the woman struck by a 2018 Toyota Tundra, driven by a 70-year-old Hopatcong man.  The woman was pronounced dead after being transferred to Overlook Medical Center.  The incident is under investigation by the Summit Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau. The man was struck in the northbound lanes and hurled onto the other side of the highway near the Ramsey Outdoor store around daybreak Dec. 8, they said. State Police: Girl, 15, Struck And Killed By Car On Route 80 A 15-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car on Route 80 early Tuesday morning, state police said.  The girl ran into the road and was hit by an unknown vehicle eastbound near milepost 45.3 in Parsippany-Troy Hills just before 3:30 a.m., NJSP Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, Goez said. Her name was not released. The center and right lanes were closed for about three hours during the crash investigation.

Update: Woman, 18, Struck, Killed On Route 17 In Paramus An 18-year-old woman was struck and killed early Saturday on southbound Route 17 in Paramus, responders said. "The victim was walking in right lane of the highway" when she was struck around 5:30 a.m. near the Garden State Parkway overpass and Midland Avenue, Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg told Daily Voice.
