Man Killed By Vehicle On Route 23: Prosecutor
A man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 23 on Monday evening, Feb. 26, authorities said. The fatal crash occurred on Route 23 North and Center Court in Butler, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. The victim, an adult male, died at the scene, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. The crash remains under investigation and the driver is cooperating, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

Crash With Injuries Closes Portion Of Route 23 In Morris County
A crash with injuries shut down a portion of Route 23 for rush hour commuters in Morris County on Wednesday morning, Nov. 8, developing reports say. The crash occurred on Rt. 23 in both directions south of CR 511/Boonton Avenue in Butler around 8:15 a.m., according to 511NJ. A Morris County resident was charged with several counts of invasion of privacy for taking videos of women using a bathroom stall at the Rockaway Valley Aerodrome (RVA) Fields, authorities said. Police have issued a warning to Morris County residents after a dog was attacked by a bear in a local backyard. Officers were called to a home on Scott Street in Butler the day after the Saturday, August 20 attack, police said. A friend of the dog’s owner had apparently been pet sitting when the animal was let outside, police said. Morris County mom and special education teacher Jennie Elizabeth Byram died Jan. 22 following a five-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was 34. Byram was born in the Bronx and grew up in Butler, her obituary says. She “made her childhood dream come true” by pursuing special education and teaching students in a one-on-one setting for seven years, her obituary says. Joseph "Joe" Richard May, 94, formerly of Chatham, passed away of natural causes on July 26. He was at the home of his son David in Corona, CA, where he moved recently after losing vision in one eye. He is reunited in Heaven with Martha Jane May, his wife of 50 years who passed away in 2009. Born in Ridgewood to bridge designer Joseph Otto and Marcella Mary (Urell) May on June 29, 1926, he was the youngest of three children. The driver and passenger of an ATV were airlifted with serious injuries after crashing into an embankment in Sussex County over the weekend, state police said. Thomas Bedell Jr., 49, was driving a Tracker Off Road ATV at a home on Beaver Run Road in Lafeyette when the vehicle hit an embankment and a rock shortly before 4:45 p.m., Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. Two people died in a New Year's Eve house fire in Butler, authorities said. A 74-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital with severe burns sustained in the Myrtle Avenue blaze, which broke out shortly before 5 p.m., responders said. It was believed that his 72-year-old wife perished at the scene. Two firefighters were taken to the hospital with injuries that didn't appear life-threatening, responders said. The two-alarm blaze was declared under control around 6:30 p.m. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office didn't disclose further information.
