An emotionally troubled man died after jumping from a moving SUV on Route 287 over the weekend, New Jersey State Police said. The Ford was headed north when the 31-year-old rear-seat passenger from Connecticut opened the door and jumped out in the area of milepost 58.4 in Oakland around 9 p.m. Saturday, April 13, NJSP Sgt. A 24-year-old Vineland man died last week in prison, and his family's attorney said his death was avoidable had he gotten the mental health treatment he'd been requesting. Atlantic City police pulled a distraught man from the ledge of a parking garage earlier this month, authorities said. On Sept. 10, t 3:03 p.m., police officers responded to the top floor of a parking structure in reference to a man who was lying on the ledge continually looking over. A suicidal man was unconscious on the bathroom floor, a belt tied around his neck, when Lyndhurst Police Chief Richard Jarvis found him on Christmas Eve.
