SUV Crash Knocks Out Power, Shuts Down Road In South Jersey: Police
An SUV crashed into a utility pole in Monmouth County, shutting down a road and knocking out power, authorities said. In a Facebook post, Wall Township police said a vehicle hit the pole along Hospital Road at around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Apr. 25. No injuries were reported in the crash. A photo from Wall police showed an SUV lying on its left side in the middle of the road. Two utility poles were leaning and there was also damage to a nearby fence. Motorcyclist Killed Route 1 South Brunswick
Two people were killed in separate crashes in South Brunswick including a motorist from South River and a motorcyclist from Pennsylvania, authorities said. At 5:56 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, officers were alerted to a single-car crash on Route 535. The preliminary investigation shows a Nissan Maxima, operated by a 65-year-old man from South River, left the roadway and struck a utility pole. A Toms River toddler was injured when she ran into a road and was hit by an SUV, authorities said. Toms River police responded to a report of a pedestrian crash involving a toddler on Clayton Avenue at around 1:24 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 14, a police department spokesperson said. Dump Truck Overturns On Route 287
An overturned dump truck shut a portion of Route 287 in Morris County Thursday, Jan. 4, the state's DOT site shows. The Peterbilt dump truck was heading north when the driver lost control, ran off the roadway to the right, reentered the lane of travel and then overturned around 10:45 a.m. near milepost 40.8 in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. Traffic was backed up for about a mile after a crash on US Route 9 in Old Bridge Township on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 3. The NJDOT says the crash happened on US 9 North just before 1 p.m. Crews responded to the crash and a fluid spill. Two lanes were closed on US 9 to the interchange with New Jersey Route 18. A traffic camera showed about a ten-minute delay on US 19 more than an hour after the crash was reported. There's no word yet about how many vehicles were in the crash or if anyone was injured.
