An Atlantic County volunteer fire department is asking for help after its assistant fire chief was severely injured in an oil refinery explosion. The Milmay Volunteer Fire Company said it happened while Michael Black was battling a fire at his career firefighting job at the Phillips 66 refinery in Linden. A 59-year-old man from Union County was killed while pulling into a gas station in a collision with a dump truck on Route 9 in Central Jersey, authorities said.
