Maryland College Student Wins 29K On Lottery Ticket
A college student from St. Mary's County beat the odds and won a prize of $29,295.70 on a Racetrax ticket. Brook Adkins of Mechanicsville says she was running errands in December when she stopped at Centre Liquors in Leonardtown to purchase scratch-off games and decided to play Racetrax, too. She played the 8, 9, 10, and 12 horses in a Superfecta Box configuration for 20 draws. The bet consisted of a 10-cent wager for each of the possible combinations of those four horses finishing in the top four spots. She added the Bonus multiplier.
