Man From Region Dies At Rhode Island Beach, Police Say
A Connecticut man died after his body was found floating in the water at a Rhode Island beach.
Hartford County resident Frank Sievel, age 74, of Farmington, was pulled from the ocean around 12:45 p.m. Friday, July 7 at the Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island.
According to Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella, lifeguards pulled Sievel, who was unresponsive, from the water and began life-saving measures.
He was transported to the Westerly Hospital and was pronounced dead, the chief said.

Connecticut Man, 20, Drowns In Rapids At Northeast Park
A 20-year-old man from Connecticut is dead after getting caught in the rapids while swimming at a park in northwestern Vermont, according to authorities.
On Tuesday, July 4, Fairfield County resident Samuel Paprin, of Greenwich, was swimming at the Bolton Portholes, located in in the western foothills of the Green Mountains, in Bolton, Vermont, the state’s police reported.
A preliminary investigation into Paprin’s death shows that at approximately 4:30 p.m., he got caught in the swimming hole’s rapids and was found unresponsive.

Massachusetts Man, 21, Dies Day After Pulled From North Shore Lake
A young man who was pulled from a lake on the North Shore has died a day later, authorities said.
Maynor Salas Lopez, age 21, of Lynn, was pulled from Silver Lake in Breakheart Reservation in Saugus around 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, Massachusetts State Police said.
After performing CPR on Lopez, he was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. He died the next morning, police said.
Lopez was apparently swimming with his family when he started to struggle in the water, authorities said. The incident remains under investigation.

A Massachusetts police officer who drowned attempting to save a 14-year-old boy who also died will be laid to rest this week.
Worcester Police Officer Enmanuel “Manny” Familia, age 38, will be laid to rest Thursday, June 10, at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester, following a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church, located at 44 Temple St., said the Worcester Police Department.
The wake will be at the church on Wednesday, June 9 from 4s to 8 p.m.
