Two-Alarm Apartment Fire Expected To Displace Several Families In Maryland
Crews in Montgomery County had to deal with difficult conditions on Wednesday morning when a two-alarm fire broke out in an apartment building.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a reported blaze in the third floor of a four-story apartment complex in the 1700 block of East West Highway near Rosemary Hills Drive, a spokesperson for the agency said.

Kayaker Dies After Getting Pinned By Rock In Potomac River
A woman was killed after overturning her kayak and getting trapped under a rock in the Potomac River, officials confirmed.
On Sunday afternoon, first responders were called when around two dozen out-of-state college kayakers were boating and a woman wound up pinned under a rock in hydraulics.
Passersby and others came to her aid before Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel made it to the scene, and she did not survive.

Two dogs are recovering after being rescued from a house fire in Montgomery County, authorities say.
The two dogs were found unconscious in the home on Dewey Road after a mailman saw smoke and called 911 around noon, Tuesday, Dec. 13, according to Montgomery County fire and rescue.

Fast-Moving Two-Alarm Fire Tears Through Maryland Apartment Building (Developing)
Maryland firefighters are battling a massive two-alarm house fire in Laurel, authorities say.
Around 2:45 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30, crews received reports of a house fire in the 13000 block of Briarwood Drive, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

At least one person has suffered serious injuries after being pinned in a multiple vehicle collision with a cement truck in Montgomery County, authorities say.
