Former Loyola Basketball Star Found Dead In Vacant Baltimore Home
Former Loyola men's basketball star Jamal Barney was found dead inside a vacant home this week in West Baltimore, police confirmed. On Monday afternoon, Oct. 2, officers from the Baltimore Police Department responded to the 500 block of North Payson Street to conduct a welfare check after Barney's family reported that he had been missing for days and may be inside. Upon arrival, police say that they found Barney's body with signs of trauma to the body and the 37-year-old former basketball player was later identified by the Medical Examiner's Office. Three Found Dead In Towson Welfare Check: What We Know
Three people were found dead by police performing a welfare check in Baltimore County Friday, Aug. 18, authorities said. Officers were called to the 1100 block of Kenilworth Drive in Towson around noon for a welfare check, at which point the area was closed for investigation, county police said. Police went inside of the home and found three people deceased. The incident was not being investigated as a homicide, however, police did not disclose further information. New Video Released By AG Of Fatal Police-Involved Shooting In Riverside Park
The Maryland Attorney General has released body-cam footage of a fatal police-involved shooting last month while officers were conducting a welfare check on a 75-year-old man at his Riverdale Park home. Bryan Coupal was shot and killed by officers from the Riverdale Park Police Department at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19 in the 4700 block of Oglethorpe Street when he defied orders from investigators and shot a gun at them, prompting them to return fire. Woman Found Shot Dead In Prince George's Apartment
A woman was shot and killed inside of a Prince George's apartment Thursday, July 7, authorities said. Police performing a welfare check at the 2000 block of Oglethorpe Street in Chillum found the victim unresponsive around 4:50 p.m., the PGPD said. The woman was pronounced dead on scene. No further details were released.
