A body was found beside a burning car over the weekend, authorities said, but investigators do not believe the death was suspicious, NBC Connecticut reported. A man called 911 around 10:30 p.m. to report seeing flames near Smith's Point in Milford from across the Housatonic River in Stratford, the Milford Fire Department said in a Facebook post. A Connecticut woman who fell off a paddleboard in the Housatonic River and never resurfaced has been identified. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 6:15 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, in Seymour, according to Will Healey of the state Department of Energy & Environmental Protection. A 24-year-old man from New York's Hudson Valley died after the car he was riding in veered off the roadway and into a Connecticut River. The incident took place in Litchfield County around 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21 in Kent. Body Of Missing Fairfield County Man Found In River, Police Say
Police have located the body of a Fairfield County man in the Housatonic River who was the subject of a Silver Alert. Police said the body of Khristopher Whyte, age 36, was located on Thursday, July 22 in Stratford by local marine units searching the area. State EnConn Police are investigating the death of a hiker who was found dead in a lake at one of Connecticut's favorite parks. Five people were rescued after a passenger boat became disabled after it struck a rock jetty in Fairfield County. At approx. 6.30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, Stratford Fire Dispatch received a 911 call reporting the incident on the Housatonic River. Connecticut State Police have identified the man who jumped to his death from the Sikorsky Memorial Bridge on Thursday. The victim was identified as Stephen P. Regan, 62, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, state police said. Two boaters out for a day of fun on the water were rescued after their fishing boat lost power and drifted into rocks on the break wall of the Housatonic River. A building partially collapsed in Shelton on Tuesday afternoon, sending debris careening into the Housatonic River below.
