Man, 22, Shot His Mom, Her Friend With Illegally Purchased Pistol: DA A 22-year-old Middlesex County man is being held for a mental health evaluation after police arrested him for shooting his mother and one of her friends, authorities said. Brent Justice Roman-Finnagan of Lexington used an illegally purchased pistol to pull off the attack, the Middlesex County District Attorney said. Roman-Finnagan's mom, age 57, called 911 around 4:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, to report that her son had shot her and her friend, a 55-year-old Haverhill woman, the prosecutor said. Worcester Man, 31, Killed In Fiery Oxford Crash On Route 395 A 31-year-old man was killed Friday night, Sept. 29, after his car veered off the road and crashed into a tree, authorities said. Shawn Marengo, 31, of Worcester, was driving his Jeeps south on Route 395 in Oxford near Exit 4 around 10 p.m. when he left the roadway, Massachusetts State Police say. The Jeep slammed into a tree and caught fire. Marengo was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. It's unclear what caused his car to leave the road. Berkshire DA Clears Trooper In Shooting That Killed 64-Year-Old Hancock Man The Berkshire County District Attorney has ruled that an officer-involved fatal shooting earlier this month in Hancock was justified. Philip Henault, 64, died on Sept. 9 after he called police to his Richmond Road home to report a fake violent assault, the prosecutor said. Man, 40, Killed In Multi-Car Crash In Weymouth A three-car crash early Thursday morning, Sept. 29, in Norfolk County claimed the life of a 40-year-old man, authorities said. The crash happened just after 5 a.m. on Route 3 near Exit 38B in Weymouth, Massachusetts State Police said. A 2014 Mazda CX5, a 2016 Smart Fortwo, and a 2011 Chevrolet Trailblazer were all involved. Paramedics rushed the 40-year-old driver of the Mazda to South Shore Hospital, where he later died. Police are withholding his name until authorities can notify his next of kin. Fernando Duran Ramos won the money playing the “$10,000,000 Lucky Bucks” $20 scratch-off tickets, the Massachusetts Lottery said.
