An out-of-state woman is behind bars for allegedly stealing $800,000 from a Fairfield County Boys & Girls Club through a wire transfer over the computer.
Debora Marcoccio, age 68, of Florida, was extradited from the Lee County Jail in Fort Myers, Florida, on Wednesday, Aug. 21, by the Greenwich Police.
According to Lt. Patrick Smyth of the Greenwich Police, the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich contacted the department in December of 2022 to report a fraud involving one of its financial accounts.

Man Nabbed Stealing $4K In Clothes From Greenwich Lululemon, Police Say
A man was nabbed by police in Fairfield County after allegedly stealing $4,628 of clothes from a popular store.
The incident occurred in Greenwich on Saturday, July 20, at Lululemon on Greenwich Ave.
According to Lt. Patrick Smyth of the Greenwich Police, Humberto Vega-Santiago, age 42, of the Bronx, New York, was apprehended by officers after he returned to the clothing store to commit another shoplifting act.
When confronted by officers, Vega-Santiago attempted to flee but was caught, Smyth said.

Nearly $14K In Losses After 20-Year-Old Burglarizes Greenwich Business, Police Say
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a break-in at a Connecticut business that left its owner out thousands of dollars.
Marcos Scott, of New Haven, surrendered to Greenwich Police on an open warrant Tuesday, Dec. 19, in connection with the alleged burglary.
Investigators said Scott and another person broke into the Mohegan Vape Shop and Cigar, located on East Putnam Avenue, on Tuesday, July 18.
The owner told police that between the stolen and damaged property, the break-in cost them $13,700.
Scott is charged with burglary, criminal mischief, and larceny.

Greenwich Police Nab Violent Kidnapper Who Fled From Westchester County, Cops Say
Police in Fairfield County nabbed a violent kidnapper who fled from Westchester County after committing the alleged crime.
The incident took place in Greenwich early Thursday, Sept. 21.
According to Lt. Patrick Smyth, of the Greenwich Police, the department was notified by authorities in Westchester that police pursued a suspected wanted in a kidnapping and assault with a gun in Rye and had crossed state lines into the Town of Greenwich.
The suspect, identified as Daniel Patrick Twomey, age 39, of Lodi, New Jersey, was believed to be armed and dangerous, Smyth said.

A Fairfield County woman who is a lawyer in Westchester has been charged with larceny and issuing $28,000 in bad checks
On Monday, July 24, Greenwich Police arrested Caitlin Moran Hayes, age 43, for allegedly issuing the bad checks, one for $15,000 and another for $13,000 that were returned for insufficient funds after entering into a lease agreement and moving into the residence.

Credit Card ID Theft: Worker From Stamford Accused Of Stealing Customer Info In Greenwich
An employee at a gas station was charged with larceny and other charges after allegedly stealing credit card information from a customer in Fairfield County and making purchases.
Ahmed Rajput, age 26, of Stamford, was arrested on Monday, June 26 by Greenwich Police on a warrant, said Lt. Ted Latiak, of the Greenwich Police.
According to Latiak, in April, Rajput worked at the Citco gas station, located at 392 Post Rd, in Greenwich where he allegedly stole a customer's credit card and used it to make a number of fraudulent purchases.

Greenwich Homeowner Catches Burglar, Holds Him Down Until Police Arrived
A homeowner interrupted a burglary in progress and he and another man were able to hold down the suspect until police arrived in Fairfield County.
The incident took place in Greenwich around 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 25 on Holly Hill Lane.
According to Greenwich Police Lt. Patrick Smyth, police responded after receiving a call of two men holding down a third man and yelling for someone to call 911.
