An investigation is underway after a possible break-in at a facility in Fairfield County that holds election equipment and ballots. At around 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, detectives from the State Police Western District Major Crimes Squad were requested by the Bridgeport State’s Attorney to investigate a reported suspicious incident at the Bigelow Center, located on Mona Terrace in Fairfield. Fairfield Police Chief To Retire After Nearly Four Decades With Department
Following nearly four decades of service with the Fairfield Police Department, Chief Christopher Lyddy has announced that he will retire in January 2021. "Looking back on my 38-year career, I have been blessed to work alongside some of the finest individuals this profession has ever produced," Lyddy said. A popular eatery in Fairfield County temporarily closed for violating the state’s COVID-19 restrictions. Officials said that the Brickyard Pub on Post Road in Fairfield was fined and ordered to temporarily close for hosting mass gatherings and violating face-covering mandates recently. Police responded to the popular restaurant after receiving multiple complaints of COVID-19 violations. 19: Number Of Positive Cases At CT HS Up To 14
More COVID-19 cases in Fairfield County have been linked to students attending mass gatherings in violation of the state’s COVID-19 mandates. At least 14 positive COVID-19 cases have been linked to Fairfield Ludlowe High School students who attended gatherings, the district announced this week.
