Fairfax County Man, 39, Dies In Prison
A 39-year-old man died in an Alexandria prison early Monday, Feb. 26, authorities said.
Ahntais Lucas, of Fairfax County, was found unresponsive in his cell alone and experiencing an apparent medical emergency at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center around 4 a.m., Alexandria officials said.
A deputy immediately called for assistance from the jail’s medical staff, and both began life-saving measures. Medics from the Alexandria Fire Department responded and continued treatment, but the patient was pronounced deceased at 4:42 a.m.

Missing VA Teens' Car Found In MD
A search has been launched for a pair of Virginia teens missing since Monday, July 17.
Hannah Posey, of Manassas, and Jacob Sookdeo, of Alexandria, both 15, are believed to be together, police in Manassas Park said.
The vehicle they were traveling in was found in Anne Arundel County, MD on Friday, July 21. Hannah is wearing a ring, and bracelets, and carrying a teal/gray backpack. She has a scar on the top of her nose between her eyes.
Police believe the two may be in Maryland or Pennsylvania.

Convicted Felon, 21, Arrested For Shooting Woman In Alexandria
Alexandria police arrested a 21-year-old after he recently shot a woman, officials said.
At around 8:20 p.m. on August 27, officers responded to the 700 block of North Fayette Street, where an innocent bystander was shot in the lower body, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
The 38-year-old victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries and was expected to recover, authorities said.
The suspect, Tykeece Simms, was charged with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unlawful discharge of a firearm, police reported.

Campagna Kids Camp Counselor Sexually Assaulted Minor In Virginia, Arrested
Alexandria police announced they arrested a camp counselor on Tuesday, August 2, for his sexual assault of a 13-year-old, authorities said.
Tae’Sean Atwater, 21, had been working at Campagna Kids camp since 2019, before he sexually assaulted a minor, the Alexandria Police Department reported.
Police are looking for other potential victims, as Atwater also worked at Patrick Henry Elementary School summer camp, Samuel Tucker Elementary in the before-school program, and George Mason Elementary in the after-school programs, officials said.
