Suspects Sought Following Fatal Shooting In Northwest DC: MPD

A pair of suspects are being sought after a 24-year-old man was the latest victim of gun violence in Washington, DC.

Aaron Derricott, Jr., of Northwest, DC, has been identified by the Metropolitan Police Department as the man who was shot and killed in the 900 block of Decatur Street NW, earlier this week.

Shortly after 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, officers responded to the reported shooting, where they found Derricott unresponsive with gun casings reportedly strewn about the area.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Police say that two men are wanted after fleeing the area in a vehicle. 

There have now been 78 homicides reported in DC since the beginning of 2023, up from 72 at the same date last year. In total, crime reported by the MPD is up 27 percent year-to-date.
