DC Pedestrian, 25, Killed In Hit-And-Run Accident

A D.C. woman was killed after she was struck by a car while walking in an intersection, police said.

On September 4, at around 8:30 p.m., 25-year-old Jasmine Butler was crossing Southern Avenue when a car sped through a red light in the intersection, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The vehicle hit Butler and the driver sped off without revealing their identity, officials reported.

Butler sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital where she later died, authorities said.
