Coroner IDs Driver Killed When Car Overturns In Embankment In Upper Macungie A 66-year-old motorist was killed when their vehicle slid off the roadway and went down an embankment Saturday night, Oct. 5, officials said. Stephen La Pierre, of Upper Macungie Township, was operating the vehicle that went off the roadway on Tilghman Street and into an embankment, overturning and ejecting him around 10 p.m., Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. The cause of death is Multiple Blunt Force Injuries. The manner of death is Accident.

Hasbrouck Heights firefighters were called to the two-vehicle crash at Williams Avenue in the southbound lanes around 6 p.m., they said. The Kawasaki and Aprilia motorcycle were traveling east on Route 80 when the 33-year-old Aprilla operator struck the rear of the Kawasaki around 6 p.m. at milepost 12.6 in Hope Township, New Jersey State Polie Sgt. Hackensack Shooting Under Investigation Police in Hackensack are investigating a shooting on Friday, Oct. 4. Officers responded to Newman and Sussex streets at 9:30 p.m. on reports of shots fired, Hackensack Police Capt. Michael Antista said. No victims or witnesses were found upon arrival, and further investigation turned up a found shell casing, confirming that a shooting occurred. The Detective Bureau is conducting an investigation and no further information was available.
