Men Faked Mass Armed Robberies So 'Victims' Could Get Immigration Protection: FBI
Two New York men are accused of staging at least eight fake robberies so the store owners could receive immigration benefits, authorities said.
Long Island resident Rambhai Patel, age 36, of Farmingdale, and New York City Balwinder Singh, age 39, of Queens, are charged with conspiracy to commit visa fraud, the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts said. FBI agents said they linked the men to four robberies in Massachusetts, two in Pennsylvania, and one in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Support was surging for the family of a Virginia high schooler who suffered a brain bleed and fractured skull in an ATV crash earlier this month.
More than $3,500 had been raised on a GoFundMe launched for the family of Liberty High School (Bealeton) senior Emily, who was flown from Culpeper Hospital to Fairfax Hospital following the April 17 crash, the campaign says.
In addition to the brain bleed and skull fracture, Emily also suffered swelling, brain bruising, pneumocephalus, and more, according to the GoFundMe.
Emily, who works at Subway, is facing a long road to recovery.

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who robbed a Long Island eatery earlier this month.
According to Suffolk County Police, the man entered the Deer Park Subway, located at 1934A Deer Park Ave., on Tuesday, March 7, walked up to the counter, displayed what appeared to be a black handgun to an employee, and demanded cash from the register.
The man, who was described as being Black, about 30 years old, with dark clothing and a face mask, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

A Lehigh Valley man who allegedly wielded a handgun and threatened a local Subway worker over a food order was arrested and slapped with numerous charges, authorities said.
Wayne T. Berkshire County residents Patrick Latini, age 25, and Talia Sistrunk, age 23, both of Pittsfield, were arrested on around 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 1s for the reported robbery of the Subway at 179 South Street in Pittsfield.

A man has repeatedly committed robberies at a Subway in Manheim Township, according to area police.
John Tae James Jr., 23, of Lancaster, has been charged with two counts of robbery following his Jan. 18 arrest, according to a release by police.

Fairfield County's Peter Buck, who became a billionaire after making a small investment in the sandwich shop that later became Subway, has died.
Buck, a longtime Danbury resident, died Thursday, Nov. 18, at Danbury Hospital, the company announced. A cause of death was not released. He was 90 years old.

Worker Accused Of Sexually Abusing Girl At Long Island Restaurant
An employee at a Long Island Subway restaurant has been accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl.
Dipak Patel, age 39, approached the girl and forcibly grabbed her inappropriately while working at the Subway in Merrick, at 1341 Jerusalem Ave., at around 7:25 p.m. Friday, June 4, Nassau County Police said.
Officers then responded to the scene and placed Patel under arrest without further incident, said police.
