An aging Connecticut ex-con would have to turn 90 to taste freedom again after he was sentenced for stabbing a political consultant to death and then torching his Jersey City apartment in a murder-for-hire hit with a longtime crony from Philadelphia. The odds are stacked against George Bratsenis, 74, of Monroe, who reportedly has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and cancer. There's also no parole in the federal prison system. A Vietnam veteran and police officer who served his community in multiple counties for over 30 years died suddenly on Sept. 5, authorities say. Retired police officer Ronald E. Army Vet Struck Dead By Lighting While Playing Golf In Pennsylvania
Severe weather has claimed the life of a Pennsylvania man, who was struck by lightning during a round of golf. Joseph Slivinski, 71, of Lackawanna County, was struck by lightning while playing golf on Friday at Pine Hills Golf Course, according to the county coroner. Slivinski was attempting to find shelter when he was fatally injured, he died at the golf course around 1:30 p.m. A South Jersey golfer was struck and killed by lightning last month. The Supreme Court overturned a lower court's ruling in the case of a cheerleader who took to SnapChat to vent her frustrations for not making the cheer squad. A 14-year-old girl from Pennsylvania who blasted her school on Snapchat is getting her day in court: The Supreme Court. This is the first case addressing the freedom of speech of students or minors that the Supreme Court has heard in 50 years. The last was the landmark case of Tinker v.
