Serial Burglar At Large In Norristown, Police Warn
Norristown police are warning residents to stay vigilant after a string of overnight break-ins at area homes. Six houses were burglarized from Nov. 4 to Nov. 12 between 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., investigators said. Norristown Police Department officers are credited with rescuing a man and his daughter after their truck was submerged in the Schuylkill River on Labor Day afternoon, Sept. 4. Officer Matthew Walsh was on patrol in Riverfront Park around 2 p.m. Monday when he spotted a pickup truck on the boat ramp "begin accelerating towards" the river, the department said. Walsh called for backup as the truck floated off some 50 feet from the boat ramp into the middle of the river, according to police. The Philadelphia man shot dead in Montgomery County Monday night recorded his killer on video, authorities say. As Daily Voice has reported, 35-year-old Tyrone Guy was shot on West Main Street in Norristown at about 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21. He died of his injuries early Tuesday morning, officials said. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that could help authorities identify and arrest the gunman who killed an innocent bystander last week in Norristown.
