PA Victims Scammed Out Of $2.2M By NJ Couple In Bogus Lottery Scheme: Cops
A couple from Secaucus is facing a litany of charges after scamming residents in multiple states out of more nearly $2.2 million, police said.
Akeem Lee and Majda Hodzic-Lee called victims in Florida, Minnesota, Arizona, Kansas, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Nebraska, saying they'd won the "Publishers Clearing House Lottery," Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.

Men Faked Armed Robberies In PA So 'Victims' Could Get Immigration Protection: FBI
Two New York men are accused of staging at least eight fake robberies so the store owners could receive immigration benefits, authorities said.
Long Island resident Rambhai Patel, age 36, of Farmingdale, and New York City Balwinder Singh, age 39, of Queens, are charged with conspiracy to commit visa fraud, the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts said. FBI agents said they linked the men to four robberies in Massachusetts, two in Pennsylvania, and one in Kentucky and Tennessee.

A man arrested for rape and kidnapping in Tennessee is thought to have raped children in 10 other states, according to the Hamilton County district attorney's office and Homeland Security.
Ryan Andrew Meyung, 30, of Ringgold, Tennessee, was on three counts of child rape, two counts of aggravated kidnapping and other related charges on Saturday, Dec. 18, as first reported by the Chattanoogan.

NJ Co-Leads Nationwide Consumer Protection Probe Into Whether Instagram Is Putting Kids At Risk
New Jersey is co-leading a nationwide investigation into whether Instagram is violating state consumer protection laws and putting children, teenagers and young adults at risk, Acting State Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck announced Thursday.
"Emerging research" suggests a connection between increased time spent online by young people and "depression, anxiety, isolation, body image issues, cyber-bullying, eating disorders, and sleeplessness," among other symptoms, said Bruck (photo above).
