Gas Leak At Lehigh Valley Hospital Complex Brings First Responders
Emergency officials responded to a gas leak near the Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest hospital complex in the afternoon hours on Tuesday, Jan. 17, authorities revealed.
Firemen were called to the complex at 1200 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. at about 2:15 p.m. after a gas line was struck, Salisbury Township police said in a statement.
The leak affected buildings numbered 1243, 1247, 1251, 1259, and 1265, and some occupants complained of a gas odor, they added. The gas line was shut off and evacuations were not necessary, though some of the affected businesses chose to close for the day, police …

A Lehigh Valley man is dead following a workplace accident on Christmas Eve, officials say.
Michael David Lugo, a 39-year-old resident of Salisbury Township, was at the NFI Industries warehouse at 9645 West Hills Court in Weisenberg, when he became trapped between a loading dock wall and a trailer at about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, said Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio in a statement.

Funeral services have been set for Scotty Andrew Bernard, the Bethlehem motorcyclist and loving father who was struck and killed by a drunk driver on Sunday, Oct. 30 at the age of 35.
Scotty, formerly of Tobyhanna, was hit at the intersection of Rt. 378 and the entrance to Saucon Valley Square in Lower Saucon Township around 9:50 p.m., authorities said.
The driver, Jacob Mark Conklin, 35, of Salisbury Township, was charged with a second-degree felony count of accidents involving death or personal injury, as well as misdemeanor DUI, according to a report from LehighValleyLive.
