Three tornadoes have been confirmed to have touched down in Central Pennsylvania on Monday, Aug. 7, the National Weather Service confirmed on Friday, Aug. 18, 2023. According to NWS, the first tornado started near the south side of North Church Street in Black Rock around 5:02 p.m. and ended around 5:05 p.m. near Glenville Road. Troopers Remove 'Homemade Pipe Bombs' From Schuylkill County Home
State police are searching for answers after a pair of "homemade pipe bombs" were discovered hidden in the ceiling of a vacant Schuylkill County apartment unit. It happened on Wednesday, May 31, troopers wrote in a release. Police in Girardville Borough were called to an apartment at 30 West Main Street to investigate a "possible explosive device," authorities said. Philly Fugitive On US Marshals 'Top 10' List Captured After NJ Standoff: Report
One of the US Marshals' "10 Most Wanted Homicide Fugitives" in Eastern Pennsylvania has been captured in South Jersey, NJ Advance Media reported. Ramonte Foster, 18, of Philadelphia, was arrested Tuesday, May 17 when a Salem City police officer spotted him outside a home on Morrison Avenue at about 7:30 p.m., the outlet said. A deputy sheriff in eastern Pennsylvania died on Dec. 23. Steven Armbruster died of complications from a brief illness, Lehigh County Sheriff Joe Hanna told WFMZ.
