Gabriel Cartagena In Custody: Police
Gabriel Cartagena, the 44-year-old man wanted in connection with a double homicide last month in Allentown, has surrendered, police announced. Cartagena turned himself in on Thursday, Jan. 4, after warrants for his arrest on two counts of criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and various weapons offenses were issued, Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca said. A man, a woman, and a baby were found shot in Allentown, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio told Daily Voice on Saturday. The unnamed 66-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman, and a 1-year-old infant were found shot in the 100 block of Chestnut Street, Allentown, Lehigh County, at 8:49 p.m. on Dec. 29, the coroner detailed. The woman was pronounced dead at 9:59 PM and the baby boy was pronounced dead at 10:01 p.m., according to coroner Buglio. Man Hospitalized After Falling Into Lehigh Valley River, Police Say
Emergency crews came to the rescue of a man who fell into a Lehigh Valley river on Thursday, May 19, authorities said. Allentown Police responded to Adams Island and found the victim submerged in the river just after 7:15 p.m., Police Chief Charles Roca said. Officers Kayla Balatgek and Andrew Gehringer immediately entered the river and removed the man from the water, where EMS crews began performing CPR, Roca said. Man Hospitalized After Shooting At Allentown Gas Station: Police
A man in Allentown was shot early Friday morning, authorities said. Officers were called around 5:20 a.m. to the Sunoco gas station and 7-Eleven on 12th and Hamilton Streets on a report of shots fired, where they found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Allentown police said in a news release. Three people were injured in a shooting outside of an Allentown restaurant early Monday morning, authorities said. Officers found the victims suffering non life-threatening injuries outside of Antojos Restaurant on 4th Street around 2:20 a.m., police say. The victims were uncooperative and transported by Allentown EMS to local hospitals. Evidence of the shooting was located on scene. The investigation is active and ongoing. Police are seeking information after a man was shot on an Allentown street overnight Friday. Officers found the injured man as they responded to the shooting report on the 1200 block of W. Liberty Street just before 1:20 a.m., Assistant Chief of Police Charles Roca said in a release. The man was taken by Allentown EMS to a local hospital for medical treatment and has been released, Roca said. The investigation is ongoing.
