Uber Rider Robbed For $32K In North Philadelphia: Detectives
City police are investigating the broad daylight robbery of a rideshare passenger in West Oak Lane on Tuesday, April 2. It happened on the 7200 block of Ogontz Avenue around 3:15 p.m., according to PPD. The victim, a manager at an area Rite Aid, was riding in an Uber to deliver a cash deposit of $32,000, authorities said. West Chester Man Attacked His Uber Driver: Authorities
A West Chester man accused of attacking his Uber driver early Friday morning now faces criminal charges, say borough police. Investigators say Samuel A. Makowski assaulted the driver both inside and outside the car on the 500 block of South High Street around 2 a.m. Makowski, 19, is charged with strangulation, aggravated assault, simple assault, and related counts, the department said. He was remanded to the Chester County lockup in lieu of his $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before a judge on Nov. 21, according to state court records.

A suspect who ran from a Wayne police officer at the Willowbrook Mall got tripped up when he called for an Uber, authorities said. Uber Giving Temple Students $200K In Free Rides
Temple University students can get free rides from Uber this year. The ride-share company is providing $200,000 in free rides to students looking to leave unsafe situations, according to the school's student-run newspaper, Temple News. Each student can get four free rides costing $20 through the end of the year, thanks to a partnership with Student Activists Against Sexual Assault, a student organization that aims to combat sexual violence, the newspaper says.
