Ridley Park Dad, Longtime Police Officer Dan Stickney Jr. Dies Unexpectedly (Tribute) A Maryland police department is mourning the loss of a longtime brother in blue. Daniel Stickney Jr., who spent the last 15 years working for the Rising Sun Police Department in Maryland, died unexpectedly  on Wednesday, Jan. 10, according to a GoFundMe campaign for his family and his obituary. He was 49 years old. The Ridley Park, PA father, who spent 25 years working in law enforcement, was remembered by the Rising Sun PD as being "witty and kind." One Killed, Another Injured In Wrong-Way Route 1 Crash One driver was killed and another was hurt following a Tuesday, July 19 wrong-way crash on the Route 1 bypass in East Nottingham Township, authorities confirmed. A 33-year-old Pennsylvania driver was traveling in the northbound lanes between SR472 and SR272 when a 25-year-old wrong-way driver from Maryland struck her vehicle head-on around 5:40 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police said. The Nottingham woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the Rising Sun man was taken to Christiana Hospital in Delaware for treatment, troopers said. Both victims have yet to be identifie…

Motorcyclist, 24, Dies In York County Crash A 24-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash Saturday at a local hospital, officials said. David Scheidegg, of Rising Sun, MD, lost control on Seven Valleys and Grothey roads in North Codorus Township and crashed into a parked truck around 1:20 p.m., the York County Coroner's Office said.
