Country Club Death: Tree Falls Onto Golf Cart In Pennsylvania Killing Passenger, Cops Say
A falling tree killed one person riding in a golf cart at a Pennsylvania country club this weekend, authorities said. It happened Saturday, April 13 around 3:05 p.m. at the JC Melrose Country Club in Cheltenham, where a tree fell on a golf cart, killing the person in the passenger's seat of the cart, local police said. The tree fell on the golf cart as the victim and another person were driving the golf cart on the course while playing golf, police said. The driver of the golf cart sustained minor injuries. Passenger Of Stolen Car Killed After Driver Crashes Into Tree In Chester County
A passenger of a stolen car died after the driver crashed into a tree in Chester County, authorities said. Gordy Tate, 25, was driving the stolen car when officers tried to stop him on the 100 block of West Chestnut Street in West Chester around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, according to the West Chester Police Department. The Philadelphia driver sped away from police and ended up on the 800 block of West Miner Street in East Bradford Township, where he crashed into a tree on the right side of the road, authorities said. The drivers of two separate vehicles— who struck and killed a 24-year-old dad along State Route 376— have been located, Pennsylvania state police say. Zaonte Lonee Davis, of Clairton, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:19 a.m. by Allegheny Ambulance staff. Davis's car had become disabled and he pulled over along the shoulder and called for help by mile marker 73 eastbound, according to a release by state police. UPDATE: Authorities were trying to identify a driver who was killed when a speeding sedan rammed into a Garden State Parkway toll booth divider and burst into flames before dawn Saturday. The fire from the crash shortly after 3:30 a.m. was so intense that it melted one of the booths at the northbound Bergen Toll Plaza in Saddle Brook, responders said.
