Obsessed Patient Admits Beating Chiropractor Dead, Assaulting Investigating Detective A 23-year-old Bucks County man admit beating his chiropractor to death and assaulting a detective investigating the case, authorities announced. Joseph O'Boyle, of Bensalem, took a guilty plea in the fatal Nov. 2, 2020 beating of 64-year-old Dr. James Sowa in his Hulmeville Road home office District Attorney Matt Weintraub said. He ultimately entered an open guilty plea to criminal homicide, criminal trespassing, and possession of an instrument of crime before President Judge Wallace H. 'He Chose To Use Knife In Fist Fight:' Stabbing Victim Says At Bucks Man's Sentencing A Bucks County man was sentenced Friday to up to seven years in state prison for repeatedly stabbing a man during a fight two years ago in Lower Makefield, authorities said. The sentencing comes after Zachary Ganie, 26, pleaded guilty on June 1 to aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, and reckless endangering another person, and no contest to two counts of simple assault for the Sept. 12, 2019 incident.
