A 38-year-old mom of three has died following a three-vehicle crash in Lancaster County on Saturday, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Monday, April 1 and her family detailed on social media. Jazmin Dietrich of York died at Reading Hospital the same day as the crash, according to state police in Lancaster. Pennsylvania is making history – for the wrong reason – with the first known cases of Legionnaires' disease in organ donations, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A bacteria that can cause the deadly lung disease – commonly known as Legionnaires' – has been found in two Pennsylvania lung transplant patients. The transplants were given by a single donor in Philadelphia in May 2022, according to a CDC release on Friday, Sept. 15. The mother of a 19-year-old Towson University student who was killed in a Baltimore County crash said her organs will save the lives of others. Catherine Pratt, of Easton, was heading north on Greenspring Avenue in Reisterstown when her Kia Sorrento veered off the road and struck a fence before coming to rest in a field on July 31, county police said. Two friends killed in a Bucks County crash on Christmas Eve are being remembered as humble leaders. Tyler Amberger, 18, a senior at Pennsbury High School, and Mathew Loftus, 17, were in a 2003 BMW that collided with a 2015 Nissan Juke on New Falls Road in Levittown around 12:35 p.m. Dec. 24, authorities said.
