Pedestrian 'Incident' On I-81 At Maryland Border Clears: PennDOT Part of Interstate 81 shut down in Central Pennsylvania on Friday morning, according to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler.  The "pedestrian-related incident" happened at mile marker 1 on Sept. 22 shortly before 7:40 a.m., Schreffler detailed to Daily Voice.  The southbound lanes closed between exit 3 to Molly Pitcher Highway and the Maryland border, according to PennDOT.  The roadway reopened shortly after 9 a.m. "No more information will be released at this time," Schreffler said.

Water Outage Shutters School In Central PA A Central Pennsylvania elementary school is closed due to a water shortage.  The sudden announcement of the closure came from the Lower Dauphin School District around 7 a.m. on Sept. 21 — the same day as the closure.  Only the Londonderry Elementary School within the direct is affected by the outage and closure.   All other schools in the district will operate on normal schedules, according to the district.

Who Died After Rescue From Fire A York County Community is rallying for the family of a woman who died following a house fire in South Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday.  Firefighters with the Loganville Fire Department rescued the woman from the home at 56 S Main St. Loganville Borough shortly after the fire broke out at 10:35 a.m. on Sept. 19, according to a release by Pennsylvania State Trooper James Grothey. Allentown Man Found Dead After House Fire, Coroner Says A 59-year-old man was found dead following a house fire in Eastern Pennsylvania on Monday night, authorities announced on Tuesday morning. Richard A. 9 Escaped Inmates Recaptured After Riot At 'Secure' PA Facility (Update) All nine juveniles that broke out of Abraxas Academy juvenile detention center have been recaptured, Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Beohm said on Monday morning.  The teens escaped the "secure youth treatment facility" Abraxas Academy located at 1000 Academy Drive, Morgantown, Caernarvon Township, on Sunday, Sept. 17 around 8 p.m., according to area police.  Trooper Beohm said these boys were at the Academy as a holding facility not the long-term location of sentenced youth.  The boys were between the ages of 14 and 17 years of age.
